A Truly Integrated Part of Your LMS

Using Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI) 1.3 Advantage, the gold standard for systems integration, Penda’s gamified science activities can be right at teachers’ and students’ fingertips in your learning management system (LMS).

This seamless integration makes it easier for students to build their science skills within a learning environment they’re already familiar with and use every day. Integration makes using Penda more efficient for teachers, too. They can assign Penda activities, track student progress, and even create intervention groups all without ever having to leave the LMS. As students complete assignments, their scores are automatically added to the LMS gradebook, saving teachers time and reducing errors caused by manual data entry.

LTI Advantage makes Penda a unified part of your learning ecosystem, simplifying access and giving valuable time back to teaching and learning.

Comprehensive Support for SSO & Auto Data Rostering

In addition to single sign-on using LTI 1.3 Advantage, Penda is certified by both ClassLink and Clever for SSO and can also integrate using OAuth.

Auto data rostering can be done securely with ClassLink’s OneRoster or with IMS Global OneRoster in both csv and REST formats.

Powered — and Protected — by AWS

Penda uses Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. This ensures ultimate stability and security.

  • Redundant infrastructure, with automatic database backups on a regular schedule.
  • The database structure has live duplicate copies that are ready to take over in case of failure of the master database.
  • No database is directly accessible from the Internet.
  • Every password is stored in a one-way encrypted format.
  • Minimal sensitive information is stored for each user. Only first and last names are stored for students. Names and emails are stored for teachers and administrators. No other personal information is asked for or kept.
  • End-to-end encryption is maintained between the user’s web browser and the servers using 256 bit SSL certificates.
  • We use the industry leading server monitoring service, Dynatrace, to track issues with both hardware and software.
  • Access is limited by permissions to both the website and the underlying systems. Access into the website requires a valid username and password. Access to the code, servers and databases require authenticated keys that are unique to every developer.

Penda is accessible on any Internet-connected device with the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla FireFox, or Mac OS Safari.
